So what can I add to the soil to bring the PH to 6 so I need a plant safe PH up preferably organic like baking soda for example.

But I know that an overload of one nute type will hurt the seedlings

    TIA for all the replies

Yes, Yates Hydrangea Pinking Liquid Lime & Dolomite can be used to raise soil pH for cannabis in 4-gallon pots, but it requires careful application to avoid harming the plants, as cannabis has specific pH preferences and is sensitive to rapid changes. Your goal is to increase soil pH from 2 to 6, which aligns well with cannabis’s needs, but there are important considerations to ensure effectiveness and safety. Here’s a detailed guide:

        Cannabis pH Preferences

Cannabis thrives in a soil pH range of 6.0-7.0 for optimal nutrient uptake. A pH of 6 is ideal for soil-grown cannabis, as it balances nutrient availability (e.g., nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium) while minimizing deficiencies.

A starting pH of 2 is extremely acidic and likely detrimental to cannabis, potentially indicating a contaminated or highly peat-based potting mix. Raising the pH to 6 is appropriate, but it must be done gradually to avoid stressing the plants.

Effectiveness of Yates Hydrangea Pinking Liquid Lime & Dolomite for Cannabis

Purpose: This product contains calcium carbonate (41.5% w/v) and magnesium carbonate (6% w/v) to raise soil pH and supply calcium and magnesium, which are beneficial for cannabis. It’s designed as a water-on solution, making it suitable for potted plants, including cannabis in 1-gallon pots.

Suitability: While formulated for hydrangeas to achieve pink flowers (optimal pH 7.5-8.5), it can be used to adjust pH for cannabis up to 6. The liquid form allows precise application, which is critical in small pots where pH changes can occur rapidly.

How the hell did the soil become so acidic? That’s the only relevant question. Baking soda can adjust the pH of water for a short period of time but baking soda is not going to fix an acidic soil. Don’t plant anything in that acid mix.

I knows right thats why I want to fix it

I’m trying to do it on the cheep and im using som old potting mix and compost

I suspect that the compost is the cause of the acidity.

      This will learn me
