Problems with humidifier affecting plants.
Hey folks..
I got a question regarding humidifiers.
I got me a spider farmer humidifier to try and keep things in check with vpd for veg and early seedlings.
I found that several of the seedling failed, they sprouted and got their first true leaves and then they keeled over and died on me after a few days.
Never had issues like this before using the humidifier and I noticed that the leaves were covered in a fine white powder aswell as the inside of the tent and the carbon filter sock was also clogged with it.
My water isnt particularly high ppm in fact straight out of the tap its around 280ppm and ph at around 6.
All the seeds were good quality genetics such as fast budz and other higher end seed producers.
Im just wondering if the powdery crap that was coming out of the humidifier could have been responsible for the issue.
I did find that there were also some fungus gnats present in the tent which I treated with neem oil and theyve since dissapeared.
The bit that really threw me was that 4 out of the 12 plants have grown ok. In fact the 2 gorilla cookies have exploded and taken over the tent.
Just wondering if anyone else has had any issues with humidifiers and the white residue causing any issues as id like to sort the problem before my next run starts in my new grow room.
