Curious if anyone here adds aloe vera to their feeding schedule? If so, does it have to be fresh?

I am headed into the frost and have a healthy aloe plant outdoors, wondering if I can freeze it now and thaw later or do you lose the benefits when you freeze it?

As far as I know, aloe adds growth hormones and sugars to feed the microbes. It also slightly acidifies the rhizosphere to give the electron gradient a nice kick in the ass

    Thanks!

I use aloe a decent amount (as well as coconut water). I hate when people answer questions on forums saying they don’t know, but I misread your question at first and had already started typing. I keep my aloe plant inside, so I don’t know about freezing it. But they sell fresh aloe stalks/leaves at the grocery for $2, and that’s for a huge amount. Also, I heard they sell an Aloe powder that works at Trader Joe’s and health food stores. Sorry I don’t know about freezing it though.

I havnt heard of feeding your plants aloe but I snapped a stem once and asked chat GPT what to do and it said if outer skin of stem was split to put some aloe on it. I think it protects it from bacteria getting in or something

I freeze aloe in ice cube trays, then seal in sealer bags…nutrients lost minimal when frozen…
